Borussia Monchengladbach’s plans for Nico Elvedi in light of Leeds United’s interest
Elvedi, 28, of Gladbach, might be brought in to cover one region.
The Swiss star has a contract with Gladbach until June 2027 and has been instrumental this season,
impressing boss Gerardo Seoane.
However, Gladbach are set to sell a number of players in the near future,
and Leeds are now leading Wolves in the race to sign Elvedi despite being in the Championship,
with Farke certainly playing a key role.
Elvedi, a regular in Gladbach’s side this season, is on track to make
the most appearances as a foreign star for the German club,
and he is closing in on Gladbach’s top ten appearance makers.
However, German publication Bild reports that Gladbach is planning an exit at centre-back.
They plan to sell either Elvedi or Japan’s Ko Itakura at the end of the season, with Leeds intrigued.
According to reports, Farke wants Elvedi ‘immediately’, but with Leeds in the Championship, a trade appears doubtful.
