Second Celtic Player in January exit is announced

After a handful of brief cameo appearances off the bench to open the season, he was dismissed from the matchday squad entirely after Arne Engels and Luke McCowan were signed.

Forcing your way into Celtic’s midfield is a daunting undertaking, and with months of no matches to break up the training schedules, the possibilities are much slimmer, with the MLS presenting a glitzy escape route.

On Monday night, the LAFC website announced:

LAFC has signed midfielder Odin Thiago Holm on a loan from Scottish Premier League team Celtic F.C. through 2025. Holm will occupy an International Roster Slot and will be added to the roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P1 Visa.

Holm is the fourth of the infamous summer 2023 recruits to leave on loan, following Marco Tilio, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, and Gus Lagerbielke, all of whom have little chance of making an impact at Celtic.

With a contract until May 2028, his Celtic days aren’t finished, but finding success for LAFC could pave the way for a permanent move for the Norwegian under-21 international.  Celtic this month with others such as Luis Palma also expected to exit as Brendan Rodgers continues to shape the squad.
