Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham set to battle it out for £24.8m England international
According to rumours, AC Milan is prepared to sell, and Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and West
Ham are all prepared to make a play for Fikayo Tomori.
After a successful loan at the San Siro, Tomori moved from Chelsea to Milan in the summer of 2021
for £24 million (according BBC Sport).
Prior to suffering a hamstring injury last season, the centre-back started the majority of Milan’s Serie
A games and had early success in Italy, winning the Serie A title in his first season following a
permanent move.
Since then, Tomori has had difficulty regaining his spot, and he has only played 38% of the available Serie A minutes this season.
Fikayo Tomori: Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham to battle for centre-back
Tomori has until the summer of 2027 to fulfil his contract with the Rossoneri.
Milan is now prepared to cash in on Tomori while he still has a respectable transfer value, according
to reports from Italy (via The Hard Tackle).
According to the speculations, Milan is seeking €30 million (£24.8 million) for the 27-year-old, who, despite his success in Italy, only has five senior England caps.
As of right now, it appears like Newcastle, Aston Villa, and West Ham are the top contenders to
recruit Tomori, who is rumoured to have his sights set on returning to the Premier League if his time
in Milan is up.
If Tomori returns to England in January or the upcoming summer transfer window, Mario Gila, a Spanish centre-back for Lazio, is a strong contender to take his place at the San Siro.
AC Milan is now eight points behind Lazio in the fourth and final Champions League position and fourteen points behind leaders Atalanta in the Serie A standings.
Paulo Fonseca’s team, however, has only lost one of their last eleven games in all competitions.
Their next two games are against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana and Roma in Serie A.re
