L’Inter punta a Jaka Bijol dell’Udinese per il mercato di gennaio
Inter Milan are actively pursuing Udinese’s Slovenian defender, Jaka Bijol, as a key target for the upcoming January transfer window. The 25-year-old has garnered attention for his robust defensive capabilities, making him a prime candidate to bolster Inter’s backline.
Bijol has expressed appreciation for the interest from a prestigious club like Inter, stating, “For sure, it’s a nice thing to hear… I have ambitions to play in the Champions League and Premier League.”
Inter’s pursuit of Bijol is driven by the need to address the aging profiles of current defenders Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij. Acerbi, 36, has been dealing with persistent thigh injuries, while de Vrij, 32, is in the final year of his contract, with no renewal in sight.
However, Inter faces competition from Napoli, who are also keen on securing Bijol’s services to strengthen their defensive lineup.
Udinese’s management acknowledges the growing interest in Bijol but remains non-committal about a potential transfer. The club’s director commented, “I would have been very surprised if a player like him wasn’t coveted by Inter. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll go there.”
As the January transfer window approaches, Inter Milan is expected to intensify their efforts to acquire Bijol, aiming to reinforce their defense for the latter half of the season.
