Barry Ferguson Doubts John Souttar’s Fitness for Celtic vs. Rangers Final

Barry Ferguson has expressed concerns over John Souttar’s availability for the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic at Hampden Park on Sunday, December 15.

Souttar was substituted in the first half of Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the Europa League, with Leon Balogun stepping in alongside Robin Propper. His injury now poses a selection dilemma for Rangers manager Philippe Clement ahead of the crucial Old Firm showdown.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (December 13), Ferguson said:
“John Souttar has been playing consistently, and his performances have improved. But he seems very doubtful for Sunday. My preferred centre-back pairing would be Souttar and Balogun.”
