Edoardo Bove, the midfielder for Fiorentina, fainted on the field during

Inter Milan’s Serie A match against them, forcing the game to be called off.

After both teams signaled for quick medical attention, Bove,

who was on loan from AS Roma in Florence, collapsed to the

ground in the sixteenth minute and was carried off on a stretcher.

The 22-year-old was sent to the hospital in an ambulance.

On 16 minutes, the Italian, who was on loan from AS Roma,

another Serie A team, abruptly collapsed to the ground.

Players on both sides signaled for medical help,

and he received it promptly.

The 22-year-old was stretchered off the field and put

into an ambulance to be taken to hospital,

where he is in intensive care.
The game was goalless between the third- and

fourth-placed teams in the Italian top tier.
Fiorentina released a statement stating that Bove was

“currently under pharmacological sedation and hospitalised

in intensive care”, and that he would be assessed tomorrow.

“He arrived at the emergency room in stable hemodynamic

conditions and the first cardiological and neurological tests

performed have ruled out acute damage to the central

nervous system and the cardio-respiratory system,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, both the presidents of Inter Milan and

Fiorentina have issued statements of their own.
Rocco Commisso, of Fiorentina, said: “Forza Edoardo,

we’re with you. You’re a strong boy with a great character.

We’re reaching out to his family during these moments.”
