Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has made his prediction for Everton against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves head northwest to face Everton today in what might be a
key match in the Premier League relegation battle.
It is still early in the season, but the Old Gold and Toffees have emerged as
bottom-three challengers after shaky starts. Gary O’Neil and Sean Dyche had only four wins between them after 13 matches, with Wolves in 18th place and Everton in 17th.
Redknapp, who has handled 641 English top-flight games in his managing career, is concerned about Everton, but feels Wolves have the quality to survive. The 77-year-old predicts Wanderers will win at Goodison Park.
“It’s worrying times again at Everton, they were just a shambles against Manchester United,” Redknapp said. “They really shot themselves in the foot a couple of times and gifted some of those goals. They’ve got a little bit of breathing room over the bottom three, but they just don’t score many.“Wolves-Bournemouth was a crazy game! Wolves were on a good run; I was surprised they looked so shaky at home. Wolves went to Fulham and cruised to the win, they’ll fancy going here and getting something. I just think Wolves have more attacking quality and threat and will edge this 0-1,” Redknapp added.
Not just a victory but a clean sheet for the Old Gold in store according to Redknapp, then. That would certainly relieve some pressure from O’Neil’s shoulders but Wolves fans shouldn’t count their chickens just yet as a trip to Goodison is always tough, especially under the lights.
