CONFIRM: Jordan Henderson will officially join the Black Cat on January 22nd during the transfer window.
Amid continued ties to Sunderland, Jordan Henderson has spoken out about his future at Ajax.
Jordan Henderson may make a comeback to England during the January transfer window, according to recent reports.
Additionally, it has been reported that Sunderland is interested in re-signing its former academy graduate, who left the team for Liverpool in 2011—13 years ago.
Henderson made nearly 500 games for Liverpool since leaving the Stadium of Light, and as captain, he won the Premier League and the Champions League.
He abruptly decided to leave Anfield last year to join Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.
After only six months, Henderson returned to Europe with Ajax, where he is reportedly facing an uncertain future.
Football financial specialist Adam Williams stated in a recent interview with Sunderland AFC News that Henderson’s return to the UK in January will not be hampered by rumors of his tax problems.
Henderson may be tempted to return to the UK because, as he stated in the same interview above, he doesn’t visit his family very often and they live in England.
