Transfer News: £56m Manchester United star looks set to miss the Everton clash
Everton are set to face Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United
side up next in the Premier League, and there may just be an injury issue for the Red Devils.
Sean Dyche couldn’t have wished for a more difficult run of fixtures in the Premier League,
as Everton are about to start a crucial seven-game stretch that features all of the top four.
However, one slight stress reliever for Dyche is the fact that he’s not under pressure right now,
as Farhad Moshiri still believes he’s the right man for the job.
Ruben Amorim has a point to prove after a rather disappointing 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in his first game in charge of the Red Devils.
But it looks as if he’ll have to do it without one of his star men, as an insider has claimed that one player is set to miss two to three weeks of action.
Lisandro Martinez to miss 2-3 weeks of action
Lisandro Martinez, who joined Man United for £56 million,
sat out the draw with Ipswich due to a back problem he suffered during the win over Leicester before the international break.
The defender pulled out of the Argentina squad, and no return date had been set.
Amorim opted for Jonny Evans, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui
last time out against Ipswich, and it looks like he may have to keep that back three.
According to Manchester United insider, United Menace (as per Give Me Sport), ‘Lisandro Martínez around 2-3 weeks, depending on discomfort and rehab, Spinal injury, not that serious!’
Everton could have some fresh faces return for Manchester United clash
Armando Broja could appear on the subs bench against Man United
after completing 45 minutes for the Everton Under-21s on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Nathan Patterson also featured at right-back in the same game,
though it didn’t go to plan for him as he was given his marching orders.
Youssef Chermiti has returned from injury to take part in full training
but it’s unlikely he’ll make the matchday squad having been out since pre-season.
James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam were believed to be
making good progress and we await a fresh update from Sean Dyche this week.
