Rangers and Celtic are both back in action this weekend following the internationa break

Rangers face Dundee United on Saturday as they look to build some momentum. They won 1-0 at Ibrox last time out against Hearts.

Celtic remain top of the table with Aberdeen and face Hearts at Tynecastle this weekend. In the meantime, here is a look at the latest news regarding the pair…

Rangers target latest

Rangers-linked Dion Sanderson is reportedly ‘attracting interest’ from elsewhere ahead of January, as per BirminghamLive. The report claims the player ‘won’t be short of takers’ if he was allowed to leave St Andrew’s this winter but the Blues would need to ‘replace’ him if he was to head out the exit door.

The Gers were believed to be keeping tabs on his situation this past summer, according to the Daily Record. However, a move to Ibrox didn’t happen in the end and he ended up staying put beyond the deadline of the last transfer window.

Sanderson, who is 24-years-old, is under contract at Birmingham until 2027 meaning they are under no pressure to cash in on him anytime soon and can wait for the right offer to come in for his signature. He has been with his current club since 2022.

He rose up through the ranks at Wolves and was a regular for the Premier League side at various different youth levels. The Wednesfield-born man went on to play once for the first-team before he was loaned out to Cardiff City, Sunderland and QPR to get some experience under his belt.

The defender initially linked with the Blues on loan before his switch was made permanent. He has made 79 appearances in all competitions to date, three of which have come in this campaign, and his long-term future is up in the air.

Celtic-linked man update

Journalist Mark Guidi has said he has a ‘feeling’ that Motherwell star Lennon Miller will end up at Celtic. The 18-year-old is being tipped for a bright future in the game.

He has said on the Go Radio Football Show: “I’m sure there is interest from Italy because they do their homework; they now scour this market. I know 100% there’s interest from Germany and Spain and obviously down south.

“I’ve no doubt that Celtic and Rangers will have registered an interest, I’ve no doubt about that. I’ve got a feeling he will end up at Celtic; I think he’s definitely going to go in January, and I think he’ll be sold in January because for Motherwell, he’s hot, and he might get hotter, but you need to be careful you don’t run the risk with 18 months on his deal.“

He added: “If they’ve got a concrete guaranteed £3 million-£3.5 million with the potential for a couple of million in add-ons here and there, Motherwell have got to take that. They’ve got to; Celtic can afford that kind of fee all day long. For me, longer-term, getting someone like Lennon Miller the way he looks just now, I think £3 million to £3.5 million with add-ons would be a bargain.”
