Rangers’ ruling on Ianis Hagi was overturned in comparison to Walter Smith’s.

Although Hagi hasn’t featured much for the Light Blues this season,

former Giants attacker Stewart expressed his desire to see more of the Romanian in an interview

with the Daily Record [November 19]. However, he likened Clement’s choice

to strengthen the defense against Hearts to Walter Smith’s.

His numbers are good when he’s in shape. He contributes assists and goals,” he stated.

“I am aware that many were eager to watch him take on Hearts. However,

Clement’s efforts to strengthen things were similar to what the Rangers frequently accomplished

under Walter Smith. Okay, it wasn’t pretty, but you barely survived a European match against

Olympiacos, winning 1-0.

Traveling overseas is always challenging, and sometimes achieving the desired outcome

is more important than your performance. We just need to go for a run now that we’ve accomplished that.

Indeed, I would also like to see Ianis get some playing time.

Ianis Hagi needs to play more for the Rangers.
Although it makes sense that Hagi hasn’t played much since gradually rejoining the team,

the midfielder has demonstrated in recent weeks that he is prepared to return.

On October 6, the 26-year-old made his league debut against St Johnstone. Despite receiving a red card,

he contributed to the 2-0 victory by dishing up an assist.

On October 30, Clement also gave Hagi some playing time for Rangers against Aberdeen; however,

the Romanian international was substituted in for the final few minutes of the 2-1 defeat,

thus he was unable to contribute much.

In the Nations League match against Cyprus on November 18, the offensive midfielder played the

entire ninety minutes for his nation and assisted on one goal in the 4-1 victory.

It would be wise for Clement to start allowing the 26-year-old to play more minutes in the future,

especially given the Bears’ recent troubles.

After the international break, the Light Blues will play Dundee United on November 23.

The Ibrox crowd will definitely be excited for Hagi to play.
