Rangers must brace for Vaclav Cerny exit after what he did away from Ibrox
Vaclav Cerny performed for Czechia against Albania in a 0-0 draw in the UEFA Nations League on November 16, despite being hooked in the 65th minute. Rangers should be prepared for his departure.
If the 27-year-old continues to perform like this for club and country, the Light Blues will have to give up all dreams of keeping him after his loan term expires at the end of the season.
Rangers must brace for Vaclav Cerny exit after what he did away from Ibrox
Cerny, who started on the left side of the attack, was extensively involved for Czechia, recording 48 touches, two of which were in the opposing box, and completing 24 of his 30 passes with 80% accuracy [FotMob]. Eight of those passes were played into the final third, and one resulted in a chance. The winger did not hold back from aiming for the extraordinary, taking two shots from outside the area and hitting the target each times.
He also challenged his guy anytime he had the opportunity, attempting six dribbles and completing four of them [67 percent]. Only Gers’ colleague Nedim Bejrami [three], who plays for Albania, came close.
Cerny also got involved, winning seven of his twelve ground duels. Only center-back Tomas Holes (eight) won more duels with teammates. He was unsuccessful in two tackles, but he did make three recoveries and one interception.
Nonetheless, the attacker would have been upset not to lead his team to a win. That will be his goal when Czechia hosts Georgia in their final Nations League group-stage match on Tuesday [19 November].
In other Rangers news, a new Lennon Miller transfer update has emerged from Motherwell, with Ibrox links.
