Hearts and Hibs, two major teams that have had terrible starts to the new season,

could have a make-or-break season as the Scottish Premiership’s January transfer window approaches.

Despite bringing 12 new players to Easter Road during the summer transfer window,

Hibs manager David Gray hasn’t been able to produce any significant results thus far.

The 36-year-old is under increasing pressure to improve his team’s performance during his

first permanent assignment in the capital, as they have only won one of their first 12 league games,

dropping them to the bottom of the standings.

Despite concerns about Gray’s future, the Hibs board has promised to give him more time to turn things around.

Meanwhile, across the city, Steven Naismith’s time was running out as he was unable

to retain his position following a sharp decline in Hearts’ performances and outcomes.

Prior to Naismith’s departure, the Jambs, who finished third last season, had lost eight straight games

in all competitions and had only gained one point from their first six league games.

Neil Critchley, his successor, has managed a mini-revival in recent weeks, but the true test of his

ability to fortify the team and establish himself at Tynecastle will come during the winter window.

We examine all of the major stories ahead of what seems to be a pivotal transfer window in Scotland,

including news about Celtic and a former Dundee United hero.

With a nearly flawless record of 10 victories and 1 tie from their first 11 league games,

Celtic is soaring to the top of the table.

But the season’s surprise package Aberdeen, who are tied with the champions on 31 points,

will give the Hoops fierce challenge for the championship.

With impressive wins over Slovan Bratislava and RB Leipzig,

Celtic has been outstanding this season and has even been able to carry some of that confidence into Europe.
