Tottenham Keen on £13m South American ‘Rising Star’
According to CaughtOffside, three Premier League teams are interested in
Boca Juniors winger Kevin Zenon: Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United.
The 23-year-old forward is being watched by numerous English and European teams,
including Brighton, Benfica, Lyon, and Napoli.
The Lilywhites are undoubtedly among the teams that are interested in him.
According to reports, Spurs are starting to express the strongest interest in
a potential trade for Zenon, who is probably available at
a discount because his contract with Boca only has a £13 million release clause.
Zenon is a flexible football player who can play midfield, left wing, or left back,
giving Ange Postecoglou a number of ways to make use of his skills.
Zenon has primarily operated on the left side of Boca Juniors’ midfield this season,
making 27 of his 39 appearances in that position in 2024, scoring three goals and registering six assists.
A ‘rising star’, the 23-year-old joined the Argentine powerhouses from Union Santa Fe in January and has emerged as one of Boca’s most crucial players this season.
His versatility at various places may be helpful to Spurs and Postecoglou,
who have recently had to deal with a number of injury setbacks.
Wilson Odobert, Djed Spence, Christian Romero, and
Micky van de Ven are all not anticipated to play until after the international break. Richarlison’s fitness is also questionable following the Brazilian’s injury sustained during their 4-1 victory over Aston Villa over the weekend.
Postecoglou’s team will travel to Galatasaray for a fierce Europa League match on Thursday before hosting Premier League underdogs Ipswich Town on Sunday.
Spurs will try to keep their flawless continental record going on the midweek trip to Istanbul, having secured three consecutive wins to start the campaign.
