The club is confident Tottenham will sign its £20.8 million player at the end of the season.

Tottenham are assembling a solid squad under Ange Postecoglou, but further signings are expected in 2025.

Spurs are presently ninth in the Premier League following a shaky start to the season,

although only Manchester City and Chelsea have scored more goals this season.

Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven, Pape Sarr, Lucas Bergvall, Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, and Mikey Moore all indicate a promising future for north Londoners.

Johnny Cardoso, 23, is set to join Tottenham at the end of the season.

Real Betis expects Tottenham to sign Johnny Cardoso.

A story from ABC. According to Sevilla, Real Betis is certain Spurs will sign the United States international before July 2025.

Back in August, Tottenham agreed to sell Giovani Lo Celso to Real Betis for just £8.4 million,

which included a €25 million (£20.8 million) option to acquire Cardoso.

Spurs have until July 1st, 2025 to exercise this option, and ABC Sevilla reports that Real Betis officials expect

Tottenham will sign the 23-year-old defensive midfielder.

That appears to bode well for Tottenham fans, given the Spanish news outlet only made the allegation

while giving a laud evaluation of Cardoso’s performance against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, in which Real Betis won 1-0.

Interestingly, Cardoso’s performance at Tottenham could be influenced by Mauricio Pochettino, who is now the Real Betis No.4’s manager in the United States.

Cardoso might open up Ange Postecoglou’s midfield.

Postecoglou currently has a lot of excellent midfielders, but none of them actually excel at marshalling the middle of the pitch and keeping things compact like a conventional defensive midfielder.

Tottenham have a number of midfielders who enjoy carrying the ball or breaking into the box to complete moves, including Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Yves Bissouma.

That’s OK, but it makes Tottenham’s games look more like basketball games, with play often going end-to-end and Spurs losing control of the situation.

In Cardoso, Tottenham could finally secure the No.6. Postecoglou must liberate his more adventurous midfielders and provide Spurs with a lynchpin who can organise the midfield, similar to Rodri at Manchester City.
