Sunday games: A minute’s silence will be observed in honor of Andy Gray, who died at the age of 68.

Andy Gray never failed to make viewers grin, whether it was in pantomime, River City,

or the comedic masterpieces Naked Video and City Lights.

Those who worked with him reflected the same level of affection that the Scottish public had for him,

and now a group of his friends and colleagues are honoring him by putting on the play that Andy was working on when he passed away three years ago.

When the Perth actor passed away from COVID in January 2021, he was working on Chemo Savvy,

which was inspired by his experience with leukemia and a bone marrow transplant,

alongside lifelong friends Grant Stott and Alan McHugh.

The two were adamant about performing the show in Andy’s honor, and their efforts will be rewarded this summer at the Edinburgh Fringe.

They both concur that it is among their most significant projects to date.

I still carry a huge hole in my life from this amazing friendship. Every day, he would message me. Over the past few years, there have been numerous occasions when I’ve wanted to call him and ask for guidance.

He plays a significant role in my life, which is why we feel compelled to do this, to return to the play.

I can’t wait to see how people respond to it.
