Everton have reportedly proposed an official offer to sign striker Semih Kılıçsoy, just a few months after Villa saw a bid rejected.

The 19-year-old, already a three-time Turkey international, has contributed 12 goals and seven assists in 50 Beşiktaş appearances to date. Kılıçsoy, capable of playing as a centre-forward or off either flank, is seen as one of the hottest prospects in his home nation, behind Real Madrid’s Arda Güler.

It was revealed last month by former Beşiktaş general manager Sinan Engin that Villa recently attempted to acquire Kılıçsoy’s services. “Aston Villa gave 15 million euros to sign Semih Kılıçsoy and Beşiktaş did not accept it,” Engin said via Aslinda.

It’s understood that Emery wanted to sign a new versatile forward in the the summer, so it would come as no surprise if Villa did indeed lodge a €15 million (£12.6 million) bid. After all, the 19-year-old has gained the attention of a whole host of clubs across Europe, including Premier League sides Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.

Everton have become the latest English top-flight team to enter the mix as Turkish outlet Kontraspor reports the Toffees have proposed an offer of €20 million (£16.7m). It’s stated that Beşiktaş president Hasan Arat is in the decision-making phase.

Kılıçsoy scored 11 goals in 23 matches during his recent breakthrough Süper Lig season. Before that, the teenager netted an impressive 42 goals in 64 games for Beşiktaş Under-19. Kılıçsoy is a strong dribbler and finisher but occasionally dawdles on the ball and struggles with crossing. The Turk likes to take on defenders by cutting inside.
