Philippe Clement revealed that he attempted to bring Ryan Kent to Club Brugge, but did not add to speculation
about the winger returning to Rangers for a second spell. The former Liverpool kid’s miserable stint at Turkish giants
Fenerbahce ended on Thursday, just 16 months after leaving the Gers on a free transfer to join the Istanbul side.
Kent made only 19 appearances last season and fell further down the pecking order following, The Belgian manager
worked with the former England youth international for seven months in the early stages of his Rangers stint and
acknowledged that Kent was on his radar even before he took over at Ibrox. Speaking before of Sunday’s trip to
Killie, Clement said: “I’ve stated a lot in the last year that I don’t believe in rumours because they never end.
“But, of course, I know the player and have for a long time, since when he moved to Rangers, I was in talks with him
about bringing him to Brugge. But the Rangers offered a better deal, so he selected that. I’m not going to go into
rumors about bringing in players or not.
