Tottenham are now ‘very likely’ to sell £40m player at the end of the season
Tottenham Hotspur have had a mixed start to the 2024-25 season as Ange Postecoglou looks to capture a title in his
second season in charge of the club. Last season, the Australian led Tottenham to fifth place, and he made four
summer additions to improve his squad Dominic Solanke, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert, and Archie Gray.
Postecoglou has a good roster with the appropriate mix of youth and experience, and he will seek to keep the
majority of his players while making a few additions in the forthcoming transfer window. However, it appears that
one of his main players could be on his way out of the club by 2025. Pedro Porro has been a wonderful buy for
Tottenham since moving from Sporting CP for about £40 million 18 months ago. The 25-year-old’s versatility on
both ends of the field has made him an invaluable asset to Postecoglou as he establishes himself as one of the top
right-backs in world football. In recent weeks, there have been speculations that Real Madrid wants to sign Porro in
2025 as they continue to hunt for a right defender following Dani Carvajal’s ACL injury. Porro himself came out and
said he was flattered to be connected with Real Madrid, indicating that he’d be open to a transfer.
According to Inter Live, Tottenham are’very likely’ to lose the Spanish international next year, as Real Madrid and
other teams continue to express interest in him.
There has been no official bid or discussion between any of the parties involved thus far, but it remains to be seen
whether the scenario will alter in the coming weeks. Tottenham have consistently lost their best players to some of
the world’s greatest clubs, and this pattern appears to continue with Porro. He’s now focused on Tottenham, but it’s
unclear what he’ll do if Real Madrid decides to increase their interest in him. Porro’s prospects of breaking into the
Spain squad will also improve if he joins Real Madrid, making this a transfer to watch.
