Bayern Munich could offer young star in deal to sign Florian Wirtz
Bayern Munich may contemplate offering one of their top youth prospects to recruit Florian Wirtz from Bayer
Leverkusen during the upcoming summer transfer window. Bayern Munich will make the majority of their attempts
to get Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen next summer. After passing on Xavi Simons and Désiré Doué last
summer, Bayern is now focusing on the German attacker. Die Roten could be willing to move one of their best
players in the opposite direction to acquire Wirtz.
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, if Bayern go all out for Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this
summer, they may add Paul Wanner in the deal. Wanner is presently thriving with FC Heidenheim, having left
Bayern on a season-long loan in the summer. Wanner is in a similar position as Wirtz, implying that a cash-plus-
swap agreement will favor Bayer Leverkusen. Wanner is highly regarded by Bayern and hopes to play for the first
squad in the near future. However, the youthful attacking midfielder will decide his future at the end of the season.
Bayer Leverkusen will want a large sum (more than €100 million) for Wirtz. Next summer, the 21-year-old German
star’s contract will be up for two years. Former Bayern President Uli Hoeness praised the young attacking midfielder
at the start of the season. Die Roten are likely to approach Leverkusen later in the season to discuss the terms of a
possible transaction.
Wanner made his Bayern Munich debut at the age of 16, under Julian Nagelsmann. The kid was loaned out to the
second division in 2023. Bayern always intended another loan move for the teenager before reintegrating him into
the group. PSV Eindhoven had interest in him, but he chose to remain in the Bundesliga.
