Reports: Creag Robertson serve notice as huge pressure emerges at Rangers: Details
The Scottish Daily Mail claims that after reducing in every area, Rangers have been under “huge pressure,” with Creag Robertson set to leave the team as well.
Robertson, whose departure is anticipated to be announced on Wednesday,
will serve out his contractual notice term and go before the end of 2024,
according to a report published in The Mail on page 69 of their print edition on October 9.
After CEO James Bisgrove, academy director Zeb Jacobs, and chairman John Bennett,
Robertson is the most well-known individual to depart from Ibrox in recent months.
Slashing the pay bill by moving on the best salaries and downsizing across the club has caused significant pressure, which only looks likely to intensify.
Again at Ibrox, the Rangers hierarchy is under intense pressure.
After the last six months at Ibrox, stability seems a long way off.
The Light Blues are starting a new era with significant changes made both on and off the field.
Many fans will be less positive about the goings-on in the boardroom,
even though the jury is yet out on Philippe Clement’s new-look squad,
which is far younger than its previous form and hence less experienced.
After a wildly unpredictable few months in Glasgow,
when scandal and slow progress culminated in Bennett’s resignation,
confidence in the Ibrox hierarchy appears to be at an all-time low.
The biggest stain on the ownership is the club’s forced relocation to Hampden Park due to postponed renovations at Ibrox; the ongoing CEO and academy positions are another bone of contention.
With pressure from both the inside and the outside,
Robertson’s upcoming resignation just makes interim chairman John Gilligan’s to-do list longer.
However, supporters won’t have much faith in any of these concerns being handled soon.
