Throughout the summer transfer window, Norwich City saw a large number of arrivals and departures.

The opportunity to leave his stamp on the team was presented to the Dane when Johannes Hoff Thorup took David Wagner’s place in the Carrow Road dugout.

Though it’s highly likely that Norwich would have chosen to stay, some players did leave the team.

The 21-year-old, who cost an estimated £13.5 million, signed a season-long loan agreement with the club that includes a buyout option before the transfer window closed.

Given his success for the Canaries last season and the circumstances surrounding his departure, Norwich fans will no doubt take a great interest in the winger’s achievements in France.

One could argue that the 21-year-old’s experience since coming to France in August has been a bit of a mixed bag.

Since transferring from Norwich to Marseille during the transfer window, Rowe has appeared in all six of the team’s games.

He is yet to start a game for his new team, though, as all of his appearances have come from the bench. On his third appearance, he was given a yellow card in the 2-0 victory over Nice.

But Rowe’s first goal since finishing his move to France came in the next game, and he scored it in spectacular style.

Ten-man Marseille appeared to have had a win snatched away from them as Raya Cherki’s equalizer for the hosts in the 93rd minute made the score 2-2 while they were playing away at Lyon.

But Rowe advanced to the opposing end of the field and scored a magnificent goal from the outside into the far corner to give Marseille a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Against bottom-of-the-table Angers on the weekend, the winger would once more have an impact off the bench. He was summoned off the bench at halftime with both teams reduced to ten men and the game goalless.

The former Norwich player was surrounded by numerous defenders, but he still managed to strike a beautiful finish into the bottom corner from within the box only six minutes after coming on.

Marseille would have to settle for a 1-1 draw, though, as Farid El Melali’s outstanding free kick proved to be enough to frustrate Marseille.

Rowe and his team will now finish the international break in third place in the Ligue 1 standings, five points adrift of league leaders Monaco following seven games.

From a personal perspective, I have no doubt that the 21-year-old will soon be given his first start for Marseille if he keeps having this kind of impact.

Those of a Norwich persuasion, however, may be left to ponder what might have been had he stayed, since Rowe is already proving what he can do in top-flight football in France.
