Wanderers have conceded a staggering 21 goals this season, and after seven games, they are currently bottom of the Premier League standings.

The club are also out of the Carabao Cup already.

The last several months have been extremely difficult for Wolves, and they suffered a severe setback when it was announced that Yerson Mosquera would miss the entire season due to a catastrophic knee injury. Wolves supporters were heartbroken by Mosquera’s injury; many had been pleading for a new center-back since the summer.

At the moment, O’Neil only has Craig Dawson, Toti Gomes, and Santiago Bueno as his three senior alternatives.

However, there is a small bit of good news today: Compton Park has welcomed summer addition Bastien Meupiyou, who has started light training.

Bastien Meupiyou spotted training at Compton Park after injury

On the day before transfer deadline day, Wolves completed a move for highly-rated French youngster Bastien Meupiyou.

Wolves paid Nantes around £4.2 million for Meupiyou. But since his arrival, he has not played any games, either for the first-team or the U21s.

That is because he arrived at the club after sustaining a knee injury last season. The starlet has been doing some rehab, with Gary O’Neil saying last week that Meupiyou was ‘creeping closer’ to a return to training.
