Just In: Sunderland to complete ‘unbelievable’ signing that could be ‘catalyst’ for promotion

The directive is for Sunderland to finalize an unprecedented transfer agreement

during the forthcoming January transfer window.

Sunderland may already be looking towards the January transfer window next year,

as it might be a critical recharging point for Regis Le Bris and his team.

The Black Cats are now tied for first place in the Championship table with

Sheffield United after a 2-2 draw with Leeds United last weekend.

It follows a successful summer transfer window for Sunderland owners and Kristjaan Speakman,

during which nine new players—four of whom arrived on deadline day—arrived at the Stadium of Light.

Alan Browne and Wilson Isidor, for example, have blended in well with the first team.

Additionally, there are still the likes of Ahmed Abdullahi, Salis Abdul Samed, and Milan Aleksic to come.

Particularly in the midfield area, where Chris Rigg, a Real Madrid target,

is a top prospect, there is no shortage of skill.

Sunderland should pursue a January deal including Jordan Henderson.
Henderson and Sunderland have been connected before January,

despite the former Black Cats youth player’s difficulties in the Netherlands.

Henderson moved from Al-Ettifaq earlier this year, but he isn’t getting consistent playing time at Ajax.

A Champions League and Premier League winner while captaining Liverpool,

Henderson now seems to be at a turning point in his career,

drawing increasing attention from England before January.

Pundit Carlton Palmer told Football League World that the Black Cats’ prospects of getting promoted would be best served by going back to Sunderland.

Palmer said: “What a return that would be if he could go back to Sunderland.

They are leading the Championship, and adding a player like Henderson might be the sparkplug that propels them back to the Premier League.

That would be a fantastic business move on the part of Sunderland.

It would be fantastic for those who back it.

However, Henderson is currently having tax issues related to his time in Saudi Arabia,

and it’s been suggested that this is one of the reasons he joined Ajax rather than initially going back to England.

Palmer went on, “But we’ll have to keep an eye on this because,

assuming the tax constraints remain the same, I don’t think he will be leaving Ajax anytime soon.

“However, it would be wonderful to have him return to Sunderland; that could lead to their promotion.”

Jordan Henderson is just not needed by Sunderland at this time.
Let alone for Speakman and Sunderland in the Championship,

Henderson would be a major coup for many Premier League clubs.

Henderson, who is 34 years old, might want to go back to where it all started,

but doing so would obviously mean taking a significant pay cut,

which might not be ideal given the current tax situation.

But, Le Bris already has a sufficient number of talented midfielders.

Henderson would undoubtedly strengthen the department, but it would impede the advancement of players with names like Rigg, Dan Neil, and Jobe Bellingham.

It wouldn’t make sense to cut one of those three since they appear to be ready to become significant assets for the Black Cats.
