A major financial windfall is expected for Leeds United following the sale of another player.

Fans of Leeds United may be forgiven for not realizing that Rasmus Kristensen is under contract with the team, given his lack of presence since the team’s Premier League relegation.

As it appears that Kristensen’s permanent departure from Leeds is now imminent,

those who have forgotten about him can likely keep doing so.

After Leeds was relegated, the 27-year-old chose to activate a clause in his contract that allowed him to go out on loan, and he spent the previous season at AS Roma.

Following changes at Roma that eliminated his chances of staying in Serie A in the summer,

Kristensen decided to move to Eintracht Frankfurt for the current campaign,

playing in all of the league games thus far.

Leeds would be pleased to see Frankfurt explore the possibility of exercising their option to buy provision in the loan agreement,

as the Denmark international has left a lasting impression on the club. Although Kristensen’s contract with Leeds expires in the summer of 2027,

Leeds is still keen to see the player on move

A sum of roughly £10m is likely for the defender, which will represent good business for Leeds,

who paid a similar fee when buying him from Red Bull Salzburg in June 2022. After amortisation,

it will result in a profit on the books, boosting Leeds’ purchasing power even more.
