Rugby Calendar Rescheduled: New dates and kickoff timings for the Springboks’ final Tests in 2024.

Rugby Calendar Rescheduled: New dates and kickoff timings for the Springboks’ final Tests in 2024.

Rassie Erasmus, the coach of the Springboks, stated that the team’s attention has already turned to their November games immediately following the Rugby Championship.

The Springboks are aiming for an undefeated run against Scotland, England, and Wales to top off what would be an incredible 2024 season, having won eight of the 12 Tests so far this year.

After a hectic start to the season, Erasmus stated, “The pressure has been on the players to gel quickly, and I must give credit to the coaching staff and all the backroom team and the guys for keeping on believing despite all the changes.”

“In the Rugby Championship, we used 35 players out of 49 that we used this year. However, in these close games, it is the more experienced and composed minds that can sometimes prevail.

“Overall, I’m very happy, but the end-of-year tour is now our target and going through that undefeated.”

HERE ARE ALL OF THE SPRINGBOKS’ END-OF-YEAR FIXTURES TO NOTE

  • Sunday, 10 November: Scotland vs South Africa (18:10 SA time)
  • Saturday, 16 November: England vs South Africa (19:40 SA time)
  • Saturday, 23 November: Wales vs South Africa (19:40 SA time)

It is interesting to note that Erasmus stated the Springboks might slightly change their goals to play more widely because winter weather in the northern hemisphere are probably not going to be ideal.

Erasmus remarked, “It is getting better, but when we go there, we will pull back a little bit and that is something we can do again.”

“We have played in the Rugby World Cup finals and the British & Irish Lions games, so we can play a little bit more traditionally.

“I think we are getting there. We are a team that can pull it back, even though it might be difficult to return to the exciting brand.”
