After a trial, the “dazzling” former Rangers player returns to Scottish football, ending his free agency stint.

In the Championship, a former Rangers player is back playing Scottish football.

After a terrifying vehicle accident that left the forward unconscious,

he has since regained consciousness.

After his time with Oostende in Belgium came to an end,

he went on trial at Livingston in the summer and most recently had tryouts with Dunfermline.

His time in free agency is finally over as the Pars have acquired the Rangers academy graduate on a one-year agreement.

He was not playing for the first team, but in 2019 he made his senior debut against Kilmarnock.

He now has another opportunity to play in the SPFL in Fife.

“Dunfermline Athletic are pleased to announce that Adedapo Mebude has today joined the club on a one-year contract,” a statement from the team said.

“The out of contract 23 year old and has been training with Dunfermline for a number of weeks.

In the reserves’ 3-0 victory over Falkirk on Tuesday,

Dapo made an impression by showcasing his wide-ranging,

previously referred to as “dazzling” skills and proving he could be a serious offensive danger.

The forward, who was born in London, went through the Rangers development system before moving to Scotland when he was eleven years old.

Dapo participated in Holyrood Secondary’s SFA Performance School Program while he was a Rangers student. Despite his Nigerian heritage,

he competed for Scotland at every youth division up to under-21.

Five for the U21s, eleven for the U19s, and eight for the U17s. Here, he was partnered with Chris Hamilton,

the current vice captain of the Pars. Dapo joined Rangers on a professional deal in May 2017,

however he would only play in one first-team away game, against Kilmarnock, in May 2019.

“While on loan at Queen of the South from January to May 2021, Dapo made 12 appearances (2 v Dunfermline) scoring twice for the Doonhamers.

Prior to joining Watford in the summer of 2021, the “diminutive striker” spent ten years with Rangers.

Due to a back problem, Dapo was never able to play for the Vicarage Road team.

“He made 32 appearances in League One, cup, and trophy matches while on loan at AFC Wimbledon.”

He arrived for KV Oostende in Belgium in September 2022, but he played in only eight games before being hospitalized in January of this year due to an automobile accident.

Dapo will don the 62 squad number.
