Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze could be looking for a cheap move away from Selhurst Park next year.

It was announced yesterday, Tuesday, October 1, that the 26-year-old Eagles star is open to departing Palace for a ‘new challenge’ in 2025.

According to Football Insider, both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur appear to have continued interest in the England international, and

the goal-scoring ace may be ‘open’ to such offers. However, those claims have now gone a step further, implying that Eze may have to

negotiate a low-cost departure from the Croydon club.

The former QPR player had a £68 million release clause in his contract, which

expired halfway through the summer transfer season. While the clause is expected to be reactivated in 2025, insiders say Eze’s desire to

join a top club may compel the Eagles to negotiate and agree on a ‘bargain’ cost. Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham

have all been linked with a transfer for Oliver Glasner’s goal-scoring ace, but it looks that only Liverpool and Spurs are still interested.

Former QPR star Eze was widely expected to follow in Michael Olise’s footsteps and leave the Croydon club this summer. After Olise

moved to Bayern Munich for £50 million, it was expected that the Eagles would also lose Eze, but that was not the case, and Crystal Palace

chairman Steve Parish acknowledged he was ‘astounded’ that no club made a real approach for him. Parish stated in September that he

was concerned about losing Michael and Ebbs in the same window, and that we did not receive the interest in Ebbs that he expected. I was

amazed. Truly astonished. I mean, the guy is a fantastic footballer and person.”

Eze has made eight appearances for Palace this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist. This follows a standout 2023/24

season in which he scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 31 games across all competitions.

After signing an extension with the Selhurst Park club in November 2023, the 26-year-old is under contract with the Eagles until June

2027.
