Return: Ianis Hagi RETURNS to the Rangers first squad as Philippe Clement makes an amazing U-turn on the Ibrox star

frozen-out Ianis Hagi has declared a contract ceasefire and is BACK in the Rangers first team lineup.

Following discussions with the player and his agency,

Light Blues manager Philippe Clement instructed the Romanian international to look for another club in the summer.

However, Hagi was unable to leave Ibrox during the transfer window and has been playing for the B team despite calls from some supporters for him to be allowed to return.

At first, Clement held his ground, stating that it was even less plausible now that Albanian playwright Nedim Bajrami had arrived.

“We spoke about that months ago,” the Belgian stated.

We told Hagi and his agent straight out that we didn’t think he would be the Rangers’ next No. 10

for a few years and that they should explore for other options.

The narrative remains unchanged, and this circumstance undoubtedly exists now that Bajrami is residing in the building.

Hagi, who is now one game shy of being a Rangers centurion after 99 outings,

will receive a pay increase on the contract extension he signed at Ibrox shortly after Michael Beale’s

appointment in December 2022 if he makes a set number of appearances for the Light Blues.

According to Record Sport, the increase in his weekly salary would be approximately £6000.

This implies that the club would have to pay around £600,000 if he stayed in Glasgow

for the next two years of his contract.

But things have now drastically changed, with “that a solution has been reached following dialogue between the two parties with a desire to resolve the situation expressed on either side”
being the statement made.
