Kris Boyd joins Dortmund’s Yellow Wall and celebrates Celtic loss
In recent months, he has been mocked by both his colleagues and pundits for Rangers’ performances.
So it was only natural for the former Light Blues striker to attempt a cheap shot while Celtic were down 7-1 to Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.
Brendan Rodgers’ squad trailed 5-1 at halftime after being hammered by their hosts. And the trend continued in the second half, with Celtic failing to add to the scoreline.
Boyd turned to Instagram to poke fun at his old bitter rivals’ difficulties, posting a photo of a yellow wall with a sequence of horrified emoticons.
He followed up with further story posts, including one starring Rodgers and Borussia Dortmund manager Nuri Sahin after the game, with the caption: “Please let the players know they’re the best team we’ve faced this season.”
And there’s no question that the Rangers legend is reminding the Celtic manager that he hasn’t forgotten his words after the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final victory over Falkirk, in which Rodgers made a similar statement about his Scottish Championship opponents.
He closed it with some smart comedy, a photoshopped photograph of himself among Dortmund’s renowned Yellow Wall, and the words: “I will be back.” @bvb09, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip.
