JUST IN: McKenna found Ipswich their own Grealish in “unplayable” star
Before the season began, few commentators or fans thought that Ipswich Town would continue in the Premier League, which is
understandable. However, six games in, and despite playing three of last season’s top four, the newly promoted side sits in 15th place with
four points, and most significantly, they appear to belong in the top flight.
Kieran McKenna’s side is playing some beautiful football, as evidenced by the draw against Aston Villa on Sunday, which featured a
brilliant brace from Liam Delap and excellent displays all over the pitch. In fact, one of Tractor Boys’ most promising players has been
compared to Premier League and Champions League winner Jack Grealish. Grealish gained to prominence with his boyhood club, Aston
Villa, where he made 213 appearances over eight seasons, scoring 32 goals and assisting 41 times. Villa Park fell in love with him not just
because of his goal involvement and connection to the Villans, but also because of his playing style and demeanor on the field.
During his time in the Midlands, the Englishman was regarded as a star who played an ultra-aggressive, direct, and thrilling style of
football.
