“Our ambition is to win games in a clearer fashion” Borussia Dortmund’s Pascal Groß States.
Pascal Groß of Borussia Dortmund spoke about the team’s goals at the pre-game news conference before their Champions League matchup with Celtic.
Ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s meeting with Celtic in the UEFA Champions League,
head coach Nuri Şahin and German international Pascal Groß sat down for a pre-match press conference.
During the press conference, Groß discussed a range of issues including Dortmund’s performances in the lead-up to this match,
his joy to be playing in the Champions League,
as well as a prospective coaching career once he retires.
Groß discussed the goals of Dortmund to get better and
function as a team in order to produce more positive outcomes on the field in relation to the team’s performances:
As a team, BVB has struggled a little bit thus far to attack and defend cohesively,
but Groß has been a shining example of how the group should be playing together in both attack and defense.
Groß has made a forward contribution with his accurate passing and superb ball distribution from his deeper position on the field, all the while handling his defensive responsibilities and stepping in when Dortmund’s opponents put pressure on them.
Although not all members of the team have experienced this as of yet, according to Groß,
they appear to be making efforts to address it.
With their second Champions League game of the season coming up against Celtic,
Dortmund really needs to find this cohesiveness in order to achieve the necessary outcomes.
Groß, a German international, expressed excitement before the game and gave credit to the home environment and supporters for creating it,
despite Dortmund’s current performance not being able to dampen his mood:
During home games, Dortmund’s “Gelbe Wand” is a valuable asset to the team and is frequently referred to as the team’s 12th man.
This will make for an exciting match against Celtic,
as the noise from the departing supporters will probably be unbearable due to the special occasion.
Groß, who continues to control play from the middle of the park,
will undoubtedly be one of Dortmund’s key players on the field. However, Groß’s value stems not only from his football prowess but also from his willingness to grow and improve as a player.
According to his own admission, his passion for the game might even lead him to seek a career as a coach once he retires:
But for the time being, Groß is totally concentrated on the matchup with Celtic.
His Dortmund career is only getting started,
and the team is fortunate to have such a gifted and perceptive player among them to lead this new chapter under Nuri Şahin.
We can be confident that, as his experience grows, his contributions will be crucial to Dortmund’s success this season.
