Manager Philippe Clement says he now expects a “exciting”

Rangers star to return from his injury doubt for his team’s Europa League match at Ibrox against Lyon.

Another crucial week is ahead for the Rangers.
In the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon,

the Gers secured three crucial points when they defeated Hibernian 1-0 at home to reduce the gap with Celtic to five points once more.

But Jack Butland’s save of a penalty in the first half and the whole lackluster effort made it everything but convincing.

Because of this, there is still some pressure on Clement,

whose position is been questioned recently due to a few inconsistent performances across all platforms,

most notably when Rangers lost to Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League.

The Gers’ next match is against Ligue 1 team Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday night. The team recently defeated Malmo 2-0 on the road.

Rangers have a great opportunity to generate some momentum

and build on their performance against Hibs on Sunday before they host St Johnstone in the league on Sunday night.

The Scottish behemoths must cope with fitness concerns,

though, and a fresh information has surfaced about one player’s possible involvement.

“Exciting” Rangers star is anticipated to play against Lyon.

Speaking to RangersTV [via Rangers News],

Clement acknowledged that Mohamed Diomande is questionable due to an injury

for this week’s match between Rangers and Lyon, but he anticipates using him: Diomande received a call on Thursday. Therefore, he could be reached today.

We’ll see, but I hope to get him back on Thursday. Most likely, but there are no assurances.”

Diomande, 22, has impressed this season after permanently relocating to Ibrox during the summer transfer window, so losing him would be a major setback. In his five SPL games,

he has averaged 1.6 tackles per game and one assist. Barry Ferguson has expressed his satisfaction with the £4.5 million deal to capture the young player on a permanent basis.

“Diomande’s signing is very smart—and not just because of the way the stats is laid.

They were able to sign a talented player on loan without having to pay a large number of money until the summer.”

by the fact that Rangers were unable to perform at their best against Hibs when he was out of the lineup.

As such, Lyon would greatly benefit from having him back. On the other hand,

fans will cross their fingers if he is sidelined,

the Gers’ midfield will be without his quality both on and off the ball against tough opponents.

In any case, he will be an important member of the Rangers team as the season progresses,

and because he is still so young, he has a lot more in store for him as the years go by.
