DONE DEAL: Sunderland has accepted Everton’s bid for Chris Rigg amid tough competition from Birmingham
Birmingham City could bid £10million and beat Everton to the signing of Sunderland star Chris Rigg,
according to Alan Nixon.
The journalist reported to his Patreon on 29 September that the Toffees have been tracking the 17-year-old who
has been wanted at Goodison for years.
Everton could miss out on the versatile midfielder as the League One side plots a potential £10m bid as their
American owners continue to splash out.

The Toffees haven’t been famed for their work in the transfer market in recent years with plenty of poor
decisions made from the hierarchy.
Even in the last two years, Beto has come in for a large fee in the region of £30m [BBC Sport] which is sizable
given his impact on the side.
With that being said, picking up young stars on what appear to be cheap fees could prove to be a smarter
approach moving forward.
This has been utilised somewhat in the most recent window with Tim Iroegbunam coming in from Aston Villa
and looking good despite a generally poor start to the season.
Rigg could prove to be as good of a signing, if not better, given how good he has been at Sunderland despite being just 17.
The midfielder has been handed the number 11 shirt at the Stadium of Light and has played a key role under Regis Le Bris.
Despite interest from the riches at Birmingham, the Toffees need to show some ambition which could start with the
Black Cats’ sensation coming in.
