CONFIRMED : Southampton Tipped to sack after Bournemouth Clash – Legendary Replacement revealed

The south coast team has had a terrible start to the new Premier League season, picking up just one point from their

opening five games. This draw came in disappointing fashion, as Sam Morsy denied Martin’s team their first win last week

by scoring a spectacular late equalizer in the match against Ipswich Town. Southampton manager Russell Martin

could lose his job this weekend if the Saints are defeated by Bournemouth on Monday night at the Vitality Stadium.

Graham Potter is reportedly in line to replace him, according to Football Insider.

Southampton is now 19th in the standings, only ahead of the dreadful Wolves on goal differential, as Everton finally achieved

their first victory of the season this afternoon, defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Goodison Park. The Saints’ management is

reportedly thinking about Martin’s future and may decide to fire him on Monday night based on how the matchup

with the Cherries plays out.

Martin won praise in the Championship for establishing a distinct identity, with his teams aiming to control possession

and territory throughout football games. Martin was appointed as first team manager last season in spite of criticism from the fans.

The former Norwich City player was able to effectively implement this style of play and achieved promotion back to

the Premier League by defeating Leeds 1-0 at Wembley in May. His roster was far better than that of most other second level teams.

Despite its insistence on maintaining its identity in the elite division, it has undoubtedly not translated well. Southampton

is in desperate need of a victory heading into their match against Bournemouth on Monday after losses to

Brentford, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United.

Football Insider speculates that Martin might be cut if this doesn’t happen. According to the article, Potter,

a former manager of Brighton and Chelsea, is being considered as a possible replacement for the possession-oriented manager,

and an appointment of that sort may be imminent.
