Chris Sutton has fired back at anyone who questioned Sean Dyche after Everton defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday (September 28).

The Toffees have finally won their first Premier League game of the season, defeating Oliver Glasner’s winless side at Goodison Park after

trailing 1-0 to Marc Guehi.

Dwight McNeil led the recovery, scoring twice in seven second-half minutes to take Dyche’s team out of the relegation zone, possibly

relieving some of the pressure on the manager. On Saturday (September 28), Sutton tweeted, “All the Sean Dyche doubters will be quiet

tonight.”  Fans have been vocal about Dyche potentially being fired, and rightfully so, following five games without a win, particularly after

back-to- back 3-2 losses to Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

although he may have simply bought himself more time.

One win over a team that is similarly winless will not totally secure Dyche’s position, but it will relieve some of the pressure in the coming

games. The Toffees have actually played some extremely exquisite football this season, but all of their fine work has been undone by poor

defending, which was not the case against Palace. Jarrad Branthwaite’s long-awaited return from injury may have contributed

significantly, bringing a much more upbeat outlook to the backline, with Michael Keane sliding to the bench.

With games against Newcastle United, Ipswich Town, and Fulham, the Toffees will need to draw motivation from this victory and win as

many points as possible.

They may be out of the dropzone for the time being, but if they fail to improve on their performance at Goodison Park, they might easily

return there. Mike Dean reacted to a questionable situation during Everton’s match against Crystal Palace.
