JUST IN: Celtic Just Leaked a Big Starting Lineup Hint
Against St Johnstone tonight at McDiarmid Park,
Brendan Rodgers has a fantastic chance to give Luke McCowan his first Celtic start.
With Celtic’s pivotal Champions League matchup with Borussia Dortmund approaching,
it might be the ideal time to switch things up and give McCowan the start.
McCowan, who moved from Dundee this summer, has proven to be a dependable substitute off the bench thus far.
His goal against Hearts last week had a significant impact.
His inventiveness and enthusiasm might be just what Celtic need to defeat a faltering St Johnstone team.
With just one victory this season, St Johnstone is near the bottom of the Premiership,
so Rodgers can afford to rest several of his most important midfield players, including Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate.
With McCowan on the field, those players would be more rested for the more difficult match versus Dortmund.
In addition, he’s a perfect fit for a game where Celtic will probably control possession because of his goal-scoring instincts and ability to find space in confined spaces.
Even the club itself has hinted that McCowan might be participating tonight.
The matchday graphic that was issued prior to the game features him, which may be a subliminal hint from the team that he could start.
If that’s the case, it would be a just reward for his recent efforts and an opportunity for him to prove himself worthy of more consistent playing time.
We can’t keep our eyes off Dortmund this evening, even if a lot of people are obsessed with the team and some fans have already left for Germany.
