Celtic continues their winning streak as they thrash St Johnstone 6-0.

St Johnstone 0-6  celtic win in Perth, extending their dominant start to the season thanks to two goals from Kyogo Furuhashishi.

During the last ten minutes of the first half, the Japanese attacker scored goals on either side of Paulo Bernardo.

After having a first-half shot controversially disallowed,

Callum McGregor extended the lead with his fourth long-range goal of the season.

Substitute Adam Idah completed the scoring.

After winning their first nine games of the season and scoring 33 goals,

Brendan Rodgers’ team has now won 17 straight games dating back to the previous campaign.

Following their sixth game of the season, Celtic kept their record of not giving up a goal in the William Hill Premiership intact.

Auston Trusty started in central defense in place of the injured Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Now, in peak shape, Rodgers will lead his team to Germany to play Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

From the beginning, Celtic was getting the ball to Furuhashi frequently behind a deep-lying Saints squad.

The Japan attacker twice stopped by Ross Sinclair until Maeda’s first-time volley beat the goalie in the 26th minute.

But with Graham Carey lying hurt in the box, Alan Muir, the video assistant,

called referee Don Robertson to the monitor.

Arne Engels lined up to take a free kick when the Saints midfielder

appeared to have been brought down in an inadvertent clash with Trusty.

However, Robertson disallowed the goal for a foul.

Due to an injury, Saints captain Kyle Cameron was replaced.

Aaron Essel needed some time to acclimate. The defender headed wide after Furuhashi completed impressively after the visitors received the ball from the subsequent goal kick and Nicolas Kuhn headed the striker clear,

but he swiftly beaten in the air by Trusty.

In the 43rd minute, the champions extended their lead after a nine-player passing sequence that began with a goal-kick from Kasper Schmeichel and concluded with Bernardo’s 22-yard dipping strike into the net after Furuhashi’s lay-off.

After some one-touch football, Furuhashi headed home from Greg Taylor’s accurate cross to make it 3-0.

After Kuhn gave the captain the ball after a brief corner,

McGregor’s 25-yard drive beat Sinclair in the 54th minute, albeit Furuhashi’s shot came just over 90 seconds into the second half.

After a brilliant ball from Engels, Sinclair then denied Kuhn. Maeda then went close to scoring in the 72nd minute, heading Bernardo’s cross high into the goal, but he was denied.

With a superb save at his near post from Essel in the second half, Schmeichel had secured his clean sheet.

In the 83rd minute, three substitutes combined to score the sixth goal when Valle backheeled Luke McCowan’s lofted pass onto Idah’s feet, who slotted the ball home.

Before the full-time whistle ended the agony of St Johnstone caretaker manager Andy Kirk and his men,

McCowan struck the inside of the post and forced a fine save.
