AI vs. Humans: Projecting Premier League Matchday outcomes
We tested an AI system and our special guest, Paul Smith from Maxímo Park,
to see who could predict the Premier League matchday 5 results the most accurately last week.
Paul was unstoppable, picking four winners over the course of the weekend,
including Southampton’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich and Tottenham’s 3-1 victory against Brentford.
In the meantime, the AI accurately predicted three outcomes,
including the 1-1 tie between Leicester and Everton and the 1-1 draw at St Mary’s.
After five rounds of games this season, the scores
(three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result)
are now 47-45 in favor of the human race.
Let’s see if Lou Cotterill from the indie band Cassia, this week’s special guest,
can maintain that lead. Maik mit AI is what drives our AI. Look them up at this website.
Here are the remaining matchday six predictions.
Watch the video to see what Lou and Maik mit AI chose for the three biggest games
of the weekend: Newcastle vs. Manchester City, Chelsea vs. Brighton,
the Super Sunday match between Manchester United and Tottenham.
