After Aaron Connolly, an Irish international, inked a short-term contract at the Stadium of Light, Kristjaan Speakman believes that Connolly can make an impact at Sunderland.

The sporting director of Sunderland has acknowledged openly that the striker needs to rebuild his reputation following a difficult time in his career, and he believes Wearside may be the ideal location for him to do so. Connolly left Hull City in the summer as a free agent, but Speakman claims the team has acquired a player with enormous potential.
According to Speakman, Aaron needs a chance to rebuild his reputation and change people’s perceptions of him as a professional athlete.
