Trevon Diggs, Cowboys defensive players take accountability for loss against Ravens

Trevon Diggs, Micah Parsons, and DeMarcus Lawrence all accepted responsibility for the Ravens’ dismal defensive performance. The

Dallas Cowboys’ defensive performance against the Baltimore Ravens began as a continuation of their poor showing against the Saints

. The Ravens’ rushing attack outgained the defense, averaging more than six yards per carry. The Cowboys defense is generally proud of its

sacks and takeaways, but it had none on Sunday against the Ravens offense. It is difficult to get sacks and turnovers when the opposing

team can run the ball at will. The Ravens dominated on the ground in AT&T Stadium, limiting Lamar Jackson to only 15 passing attempts

throughout the game.

Despite their dismal performance, the Dallas Cowboys were able to draw the game within three scores with just one defensive stop. With

two and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the defense advanced the Ravens to third and six, with one more play required to

return the ball to the offense. This was the time for the playmakers to come up and make a difference, to be game changers, and to correct

the mistakes made throughout the game. Unfortunately, the Ravens converted on a nine-yard pass to Zay Flowers, who was afforded

plenty of room by Trevon Diggs. The game is over.

It was atypical of the former All-Pro. Diggs is usually the one who breaks up these types of plays. Following the game, he addressed the

media and accepted full responsibility. He understands the importance of stepping up at game-defining moments.

Micah Parsons delivered another quiet performance on Sunday. This was his second consecutive game with zero sacks. For someone with

DPOY aspirations, these performances will not suffice. He is also aware of this. Parsons was noticeably agitated on the sideline throughout

the game. After the game, he verified that the concerns from the previous week persisted. Everyone on defense is trying too hard to make

the big play. The Cowboys defense must be more disciplined and believe that each player will perform their job.
