Shocking – Luke Edwards slams £60,000-a-week star after “worst performance for Newcastle”

Newcastle loses against Fulham Eddie Howe’s team had a great start to the season, at least in terms of results, and they knew that a victory at Craven Cottage could have put them atop the Premier League. Newcastle hasn’t always looked great in 2024–25, though, and a lackluster display on Saturday afternoon resulted in a well-earned loss.

Raul Jimenez and Emile Smith Rowe’s goals gave Fulham total command in the first half, putting them up 2-0 with just 25% of the game remaining. However, Harvey Barnes immediately reduced the deficit after the break. But the Magpies lost their opening league match of the season as Reiss Nelson added the final goal in stoppage time.

There were a lot of bad performances that day, but one celebrity in particular has drawn flak for his awful campaign debut.

Journalist attacks “shocking” footballer from Newcastle Taking to X in the first half, Edwards showed no restraint in his criticism of Newcastle star Anthony Gordon, calling his performance the worst he had ever put on in a Magpies shirt.

The criticism directed at Gordon is, in fact, very justified. The £45 million signing for the Magpies was absolutely out of sorts for the majority of the match against Fulham and did not provide nearly enough quality in the closing third.
