Nottingham Forest faced Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium and things seemed to be going well until the Seagulls scored twice in three minutes

Roy Keane has slated Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels for his contribution to Danny Welbeck’s third goal of the season at the Amex Stadium.

Forest seemed to be in control of the Premier League match with Brighton after Chris Wood converted a penalty won by Callum Hudson-Odoi, only to leak two goals in three second half minutes just before the break.

The first was a powerful but totally free header from Jack Hinshelwood, the second a 20-yard dead-ball finish from Welbeck who curled it past Sels with the goalkeeper barely moving.

Working as a pundit for Sky Sports the former Reds midfielder criticised the Belgian for failing to do more to stop Welbeck’s shot.

“The goalkeeper should be fined a week’s wages when that goes in, you can’t be beaten on that side. I’d fine him a week’s wages. It’s so poor,” Keane said.

“He’s took a gamble leaning to his right, you can’t be beaten on that side. Danny’s a good player, he affects games, he doesn’t take free-kicks but he obviously fancied it, you’ve got to hit the target but from the goalkeeper’s point of view – not good enough.”

Sels partially redeemed himself with a point blank save from Welbeck early in the second half.
