Celtic are 2-1 down at half-time against Falkirk at Celtic Park in the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.

Falkirk opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Ross MacIver struck a well-placed shot from outside the box, putting Celtic on the back foot early in the game.

A mix-up between Álex Valle and Reo Hatate left MacIver with time and space to get the shot off, leaving Kasper Schmeichel no chance to make the save.

However, the Hoops responded just 10 minutes later in the 21st minute, with Paulo Bernardo equalising after a header from Álex Valle sat up perfectly for the Portuguese midfielder, who rifled the ball past Nicky Hogarth in the Falkirk goal.

Celtic pushed for a lead for much of the half, earning a corner in the 45th minute, but it was Falkirk who struck again just before half-time.

In the 45+1 minute, Finn Yeats headed the ball into the bottom right corner past Schmeichel from the centre of the Hoops box, assisted by Alfie Agyeman who has impressed throughout the half, putting Falkirk 2-1 up just before half-time.

Brendan Rodgers will certainly have stern words for the Bhoys at half-time, likely offering some pointers for the players and reminding them that Falkirk have come to play and not just take part.

Given the reaction he received at half-time against Slovan Bratislava midweek, he will look for the same intensity and focus in the second half.
