Report: Celtic transfer exit shouts have been made with an Aston Villa clash to come
Aston Villa have been told they should make a move for a Celtic duo as the pair stand on a collision course to meet each other.
Unai Emery’s Premier League team will meet Brendan Rodgers’ Premiership champions in January next year
in the closing stages of the revamped league phase of the Champions League.
Both sides have started their time in Europe in imperious fashion.
A comfortable 3-0 win was enjoyed by Aston Villa away from home against Young Boys, before Celtic smashed Slovan
Bratislava 5-1. Liam Scales, Kyogo, Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda
and Adam Idah all netted on a glory night in Glasgow’s east-end.
Former Aston Villa and Liverpool Stan Collymore – who’s also a Celtic fan – insists one of his former clubs should consider making moves for Reo Hatate
and Hoops teammate Callum McGregor ahead of the showdown with the Villans. Both were impressive performers for Celtic in the opening day rout.
Collymore said on X “Would definitely take McGregor and Hatate in January #UTV” before later putting up a fishing rod GIF alongside the assessment.
Celtic fans blew back at the suggestion that two of their key midfield stars could be on the way to Birmingham.
Speaking on the win to TNT Sports, captain McGregor said:
We started the game well, got our goal and both teams were feeling each other out.
“We felt we’d done well at half-time but thought we had levels to go.
Our start to the second half was outstanding.
This is the next level for the group in terms of growth and development.
