Rangers improving revenues via their front-of-shirt sponsorship deal will be beneficial for the club in terms of FFP, according to David Edgar.
The Heart and Hand podcast host reacted to Four Lads Had a Dream’s breakdown of the deal after the club announced on 18 September that the partnership with Kindred Group had been extended.
Four Lads claimed that it would be 80% more than the existing deal Kindred have with the Ibrox outfit.
Via X, Edgar wrote: “Good news, we need to improve revenues across the board in this world of FFP.”
Rangers appear to be doing fine in terms of FFP
By increasing the sponsorship revenue by 80%, Gers are not only enhancing their financial stability but also expanding their capacity for investment in squad improvement, infrastructure or youth development without breaching FFP limits.
This deal directly impacts the club’s commercial revenues, which are crucial in the modern game where financial prudence is as vital as on-pitch performance.
Higher sponsorship deals translate to more financial flexibility, potentially allowing Rangers to compete more effectively in transfer markets or negotiate better contracts with players and staff.
This move signifies the Ibrox outfit’s strategic approach to not just rely on matchday and broadcast revenues but to diversify income streams.
It is smart long-term planning by the hierarchy but they’ve also got a lot to get in place sooner rather than later.
Hopefully, this begins a series of good decisions behind the scenes which can translate to stellar performances on the pitch.
