In an attempt to ignite a comeback in Hull City’s fortunes, manager Tim Walter will almost definitely make
changes to his lineup for Friday night’s trip to Stoke City.
After losing to Sheffield United last weekend, City fell into the bottom three, marking their dismal start to the season.
Under Walter, the German manager is aware that he needs to turn things around quickly.
Walter brought in new players Mohamed Belloumi and Abu Kamara before of the 2-0 loss to the Blades,
and his selection didn’t go as planned since he pulled Kamara at halftime.
Belloumi also played a key role in the opening United goal, when he was overpowered with ease 20 yards from the Blades’ goal,
with Callum O’Hare racing forwards to set up Gustavo Hamer to slot in the opener.
Liam Millar and Regan Slater both made room for the two arrivals on deadline day, but it’s likely that both
will make a comeback at the bet365 Stadium. Walter’s choice to start Fin Burns in midfield went horribly wrong,
so it would be surprising if the same mistake was made in the Potteries, though Slater might be a doubt.
The key choice will be on which flanker to start, with Millar most likely returning to the left. This might allow
Kamara to play on his preferred right side (he started on the left vs United), or he could continue to play Belloumi on the right.
With his impressive cameo in the second half, Kasey Palmer is undoubtedly getting closer to making his debut.
