Some Rangers fans should be ashamed for how they assaulted John Bennett.

We genuinely cannot remember the last time a member of our team had to step down due to illness,

and we are overjoyed that the majority of our fan base has shown support for John Bennett and his medical concerns.

Few would contest that Rangers support has been somewhat “toxic” lately, yet despite the fans’ continual posting of anti-Bennett memes,

we have not heard a word against him thus far; instead, we have just heard well wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.

John Bennett did not retire voluntarily, as manager Philippe Clement attested; rather, his physician advised him to do so.

Although it is evident that he is concerned about his personal health, you should follow a doctor’s advice if they tell you to leave a job in order to improve your health.

This implies that some supporters have received what they deserve, although unjustly. Ross Wilson, Douglas Park, and Stewart Robertson were the first targets of the “keep out” memes, followed by Bisgrove and Bennett. Until the team is winning, fans will simply keep aiming their guns at the board. To be fair, Dave King never experienced this, but he appears to be an isolated instance.

However, how do we feel about Bennett?

An honorable man, one of us, who invested a significant amount of money in our club and took over for Douglas Park when no one else would, only to drown when he lost his CEO and was left without a Sporting Director.

We would not be amazed if Bennett was experiencing stress-related illness in light of the recent Ibrox debacle. Most people can occasionally identify with this.

We will not conjecture, though; Bennett tried his hardest amid difficult circumstances, and Dave King himself had some kind things to say about the chairman when discussing the club’s predicament.

Bennett was not worthy of the remarks, demonstrations, or memes.

He performed honorably and gave it his all under unfavorable circumstances—unprecedented in the illustrious history of this organization.

And (some) of the fans viciously and rather personally attacked him for it—quite poisonous.

They achieved their goal, as he is no longer the chairman.

Did they bring on his health problems? They certainly did not help, though, did they?

Some fans may get overly “proud” of themselves, forgetting that these people are only people—human, fallible people. vulnerable to physical or mental illness as a result of repeated mistreatment and criticism.

Ibrox Noise understands; we too have experienced (far more than our fair share) of violent arguments, just like Bennett did.

What then are we saying?

Be kind, even if it seems corny. Act civil. When necessary, provide constructive criticism, but do it in a polite and civil manner.

The nonsense John Bennett accepted was unworthy of him, and as a result, the Rangers are now without a chairman or leader at all.

Not exactly perfect.
