Brighton and Hove Albion could earn more this season from the deal that sells Deniz Undav to VfB Stuttgart. Undav joined Stuttgart on a

permanent basis in the summer after months of speculation following his successful loan spell with them last season. The negotiations

between the two sides took a long time to come to an eventual agreement, with both sides playing poker while Undav publicly made his stance known.

Stuttgart eventually got their man when ‘Brighton gave in’, accepting a fixed transfer fee of €27m plus €3m

in possible bonus payments. That is a record for Stuttgart.

There have also been clauses agreed for the World Cup and Champions League. If he is in the squad for the 2026 tournament, Stuttgart have to pay €500,000. If he were to win the Champions League, that would earn Brighton €1m.

They’re a little ambitious but the striker already has two goals this season and is a regular in the Germany squad, so there’s every chance of them being met at some point.

Either way they, and the Champions League clause, are in place and it will be interesting to see if the Seagulls are ever paid out down the line.
