Rangers are particularly interested in the free agency market, as sportviewers has been covering.

The team believes that the previous window didn’t produce enough of an overhaul, and they are looking to add players in the Bosman market.

It has also surfaced that Rangers lost out on a very good signing.

Rangers made a strong effort to recruit Ajax star Davy Klaasen, an offensive midfielder who left Internazionale this summer as a free agent.

Klaasen has chosen to rejoin his hometown of Amsterdam at the Arena.

According to transfer guru Nicolò Schira, he turned down the chance and a bid from Belgian powerhouse Royal Antwerp,

choosing to stay in Holland with Ajax.

With Tom Lawrence and Nadim Bejrami as Rangers’ current options in the 10, the team is a little better equipped for his position now. However,

if Philippe Clement had been able to convince the Dutch international that Govan was where his future lay,

Klaasen would have been a great upgrade and addition to Rangers’ ranks.

Rangers didn’t actually make any major acquisitions of “big names,” but it would have been the summer’s biggest signing without a doubt.

Without a doubt, Klaasen would have been that.

As it is, Bejrami and Lawrence are the Rangers’ primary playmakers; Todd Cantwell has long since left,

while Ianis Hagi has been frozen out.

Rangers now have a couple of options, however not many are available in this spot.

I wish that third one had also been there.
